
Anabela Marcos
During her career as
an architect, the Portuguese Soprano Anabela Marcos started her singing studies
at the Lisbon Conservatory. After her graduation she received a full, four year
scholarship from the Gulbenkian foundation to study at the Royal Conservatory in
The Hague, the Netherlands. There she received Performer Diploma’s in Singing
and Opera and a diploma in Baroque Singing.
She sung several parts in opera productions, among which Pamina (“Die Zauberflöte), Suzanna (“Le Nozze de Figaro”), Zerlina (“Don Giovanni”), Titania (“Midsummer Night’s Dream”, Britten), Clori (“L’Egisto”, Cavalli), Venus and Cupid (“King Arthur”, Purcell) and Daphne (“Apollo and Daphne”, Händel).
As a soloist she performed all over Europe and worked with conductors like Ton Koopman, Jos van Veldhoven, Sigiswald Kuyken and Michel Corboz.
With the Nederlands Dans Theater she sung Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater” in the choreography ‘Bella Figura’ of Jiří Kylian.
In the field of chambermusic she works regularly with the new Ensemble 1939 and the baroque-ensembles Compagnia Vocale and La Primavera. With the latter she recorded music from Falconieri, due to be released on CD in September 2007.
